    "Welcome to the final posting of The Football Club 2006-- Tenth Year Anniversary Edition!  We are happy to announce that in an extremely close finish, Captain Jack Sparrow has won his second consecutive Playoff Picks Championship.  The battle for First Place went down to the wire, as Captain Jack Sparrow finished with 113.5 Points and Playoff Picks Champion Runner-Up Hoosier Daddy finished with 112 Points.  So, basically a single Statistical Challenge Question for the Super Bowl made all the difference.  This is a special accomplishment for Captain Jack Sparrow, as he has now defended his Playoff Picks Co-Championship from last season, now winning it two years in a row.  And on top of that, Captain Jack enjoyed 4 Weeks at #1, meaning that he was in First Place every single week of the playoffs.  Hoosier Daddy gave a strong performance down the stretch that almost gave him the title, but it wasn't quite enough.  Hoosier Daddy & Captain Insano both shared the Super Bowl MVP Award with 29 Points each.  And the Super Bowl MVP Award Runner-Up went to The Beav with 25 Points for the big game.  The Beav played very well during the Playoff Picks, as he was either MVP or MVP Runner-Up for 3 out of the 4 weeks that the contest was going.  In fact, in the battle for family bragging rights, The Beav finished in 4th Place with 89.5 Points, The Cat in 5th Place with 89 Points, and Kip Possible in 6th Place with 86.5 Points.  Looking at the Final Score Challenge, Important Idler predicted Chicago 20 and Indianapolis 27, which scored 8 Bonus Points as he guessed both team's score within 3 points.  To see where you finished in the final rankings of the Playoff Picks, be sure and click on the link down below.

    The Hall of Fame Page has now been fully updated (and slightly revised) with all of the winners from the club this season.  This includes Eastside Brewer (2006 Club Champion and 2006 Super Bowl Champion), The Supernovas (2006 Pro Bowl Champions), Captain Insano (2006 Rookie of the Year Award Winner), and Captain Jack Sparrow (2006 Playoff Picks Champion).  But in a new feature on the Hall of Fame Page, all Runner-Ups to the major categories are now given a mention (although their logo does not appear), because finishing in 2nd Place is also considered an amazing accomplishment.  And this extends to a mention for all of the Top 5 in every season for the Club Championship Points Standings.  Be sure and check it out and you might find your name mentioned more often than you're expecting.  Also, the Class of 2007 Veteran Inductees have now been added, as this category has been moved to the end of the season.  The new inductees are Farley Freak (John Galassi), Scary Lil' Ninja Monkey (the newly retired Kaydee Draggoo), and Drummer Boy (Joe Diorio).  I hope you enjoyed playing this season, it's been a lot of fun for me here at Club Headquarters.  I fully expect the club to return next season for the Eleventh Year Hall of Fame Edition, but there are no guarantees.  I'm hoping to travel to Antarctica during mid-November of this year for a two week trip.  If that ends up working out, I will either post the two weeks of picks sheets in advance, or just have the club close down briefly for two weeks.  Either way, I am expecting the club to return if this system somehow continues.  Thanks for playing everybody and farewell."--Stop the Clocks
