(The Super Bowl Tournament is a single elimination tournament.  Win and you move on, lose and
you're eliminated.  Higher seed means you have home field advantage and advance in case of a tie.
However, even though you advance, you receive no bonus Points for the week if you tie.)
 

RESULTS AND COMMENTARY--

Super Bowl X Match (Week 16):

Unforgettable journey:  No. 7 seed Captain Jack Sparrow caps his unbelievable run through the Super Bowl Tournament by defeating No. 3 seed Drummer Boy by two field goals-- 16 to 10.  Captain Jack Sparrow became the lowest seed ever to win the title, winning five consecutive matches after losing the Division One title to Hoosier Daddy back in Week 11 by a score of 22-21.  In the First Round, Captain Jack knocked off 2006 Super Bowl finalist Double-Double 28-25.  During the next three weeks, Captain Jack knocked off the No. 3, No. 2, and No. 1 seeds in quick succession.  These victories included getting revenge over Hoosier Daddy in the Divisional Round 32-30, and also beating the No. 1 seed and No. 1 player in the club, Unknown Artist, in the Conference Round.  Captain Jack Sparrow had previously won the 2005 & 2006 Playoff Picks Championships, but this is his first win in a Football Club major.

What's at stake:  A spot in The Football Club Hall of Fame as the 2007 Super Bowl Champion.
Head to Head history:  Players have never met in the Super Bowl Tournament before.  The only known match that
has ever been played was in Week 7 of Head to Head Weekly play this year, where Captain Jack Sparrow defeated
Drummer Boy 10-7 in a defensive struggle.  Drummer Boy returned to the club this year after taking six seasons
off in retirement, while Captain Jack Sparrow joined the club four seasons ago, in 2003.  Thus, these two
Hall of Fame players have never crossed paths before this season.
 

Conference Matches (Week 15):

Shiver me timbers: Captain Jack scores one of the biggest upsets in history over Unknown Artist 18-10.
Unforgettable return: Drummer Boy relives his glory days by defeating Boris Badenov 15-8 and advancing.

Divisional Matches (Week 14):

No. 1 beats No. 2: Unknown Artist wins a historic tournament No. 1 vs. No. 2 match 36-29 over Sweet Misery.
Divisional revenge: Captain Jack Sparrow knocks divisional rival Hoosier Daddy out of the tournament 32-30.

Two years in a row, Two MVPs in a row: Boris Badenov wins MVP and knocks Mike Z out once again 38-18.
Tranquilizer: Drummer Boy moves on by beating former Super Bowl champ The Cat by a field goal 32-29.

Wild Card Matches (Week 13):

Ravens falter: Bill Hilly loses to Unknown Artist 17-16 when Baltimore gets beat by the Patriots.
Late picks: Sweet Misery defeats The Rinator 26-20 when Rinator's picks are turned in late.
Unexpected win: Captain Jack Sparrow stuns Shelby's Dad 13-4 with some help from the NY Giants.
Close call: Hoosier Daddy barely survives his showdown with rookie Nighthawk 21-20.

The impossible: Lowest seed Mike Z knocks off highest seed Kipossible in brutal fashion 21-8.
MVP cruises: Boris Badenov makes a statement by routing gridironguru 29-16 to set up a rematch with Mike Z.
Late picks: Drummer Boy defeats Soy Junkies 20-16 when Junkies' picks are turned in late.
Early exit: The Cat stuns the entire club by eliminating two-time defending champ Eastside Brewer 21-19.

First Round Matches (Week 12):

Rookie sensation: Bill Hilly stuns the club by knocking out veteran Bob the Builder 24-19 in the First Round.
Finalist no more: Last year's Super Bowl finalist Double-Double is beaten 28-25 by Captain Jack Sparrow.
Sleepwalkers battle: Nighthawk has no choice but to eliminate his teammate Robby Bobby Ro Ro 22-20.

Upset special: Mike Z knocks off one of the strongest players in the club, Captain Insano, by a score of 26-19.
Battle for San Rafael: The Cat shows no mercy by knocking Slick Chick out of the tournament 28-24 to advance.
Bottom feeders: Soy Junkies holds the Beav to one touchdown and sends him packing by a final of 18-7.

(Reminder-- First Round winners advance to the Wild Card Round of the tournament, while First Round losers are eliminated from Head to Head competition for the season.  In case of a tie, the higher seeded player advances.)
