(The Super Bowl Tournament is a single elimination tournament.  Win and you move on, lose and
you're eliminated.  Higher seed means you have home field advantage and advance in case of a tie.
Note: Final tournament brackets are set in the Wild Card Round, much like the NCAA  Tournament.)

RESULTS AND COMMENTARY--

Super Bowl XII Match (Week 16):

New Champion:  In yet another epic and unforgettable Super Bowl final, No. 4 seed Bob Swerski tied No. 8 seed Kip
Possible to become the official 2009 Super Bowl Champion.  It was a showdown between two players who nobody
expected to see in the final, yet these two players proved they belonged here by putting on quite a battle.  Bob
Swerski scored 4 of his 19 Points by correctly picking Atlanta with Quadruple Jeopardy.  Kip Possible scored 11 of
his 19 Points by picking upsets that nearly everybody else in the club missed, including Chicago over Minnesota
on Monday night, New York Jets over Indianapolis, and Carolina over New York Giants (thus claiming the Double
Stakes).  These were tremendous picks by Kip, as he delivered another stellar performance in the tournament.  In
fact, let's take a moment to give Kip some credit, because he had an outstanding run in the tournament all the way
from the First Round to the final, and he never lost a match.  But in the end, Bob Swerski's strong play in the Head
to Head regular season gave him a tiebreaker advantage, which helped someone for the 2nd time in the past 4 years.
Back in 2006, The Rickster (playing as Eastside Brewer) tied Double-Double and also was named the champion due
to the higher seed tiebreaker.  The club would like to congratulate Bob Swerski on becoming our 2009 Super Bowl
Champion.  He defeated four very worthy opponents along the way (Speed Racer, MJD Hogg, Rad Dad, and Kip).
Bob Swerski became the second rookie in club history to win the Super Bowl title in his first season of play.  The
other rookie being Sugar n Spice in the 2004 tournament, when she defeated A Horse With No Name (playing as
Inspector Clouseau) by a very close score of 24-23.  As an interesting side note, 4 of the past 6 Super Bowl finals
have been decided by 1 Point or less.  We have definitely had some really good matches.  Thanks for giving us
another great one, Bob and Kip.  You both deserved to be in the final and we hope to see you back next season.

 (4) Bob Swerski (9-3-2) ties (8) Kip Possible (6-7-2) 19-19

What's at stake:  A spot in The Football Club Hall of Fame as the 2009 Super Bowl Champion.
Super Bowl Tournament history:  Bob Swerski and Kip Possible are probably the two most unlikely players to ever meet in
a Super Bowl Final.  They have never played against each other, which is easy to understand since Bob Swerksi is a rookie
player in the club.  So, since there is no history to discuss, let us take a closer look at each player and what they have
accomplished throughout their Head to Head careers.  Bob Swerski started out his rookie season with a bang.  In his first
two Head to Head matches, he beat former Super Bowl champions Double-Double and Camp Singletary, thus starting the
season a surprising 2-0 and causing the club to take notice of him as an immediate threat.  Keeping up his momentum, Bob
improved his record to 5-1-1 after the first 7 games.  When the regular season had been completed, Bob brought a record of
6-3-1 into the tournament, having finished Runner-Up in his division to MJD Hogg.  Even so, it seemed that a lot of club
members overlooked him when making their projections as to who would advance through the tournament.  Continuing a
trend that he had established in the regular season, Bob Swerksi advanced to the Super Bowl by winning 2 of his 3 matches
with his defense.  In fact, Bob Swerksi set a Football Club record by having the lowest score in the Conference final ever
to result in a win, with 12 Points.  The previous record was held by Salsa Tiger, who defeated Double-Double in the 2000
Conference final by a score of 14-8.  Opposing Bob Swerksi in the Super Bowl championship will be Kip Possible, another
player who was probably not taken seriously to make a run through this tournament.  Kip Possible achieved the rare feat
of making it to the Super Bowl final without a bye week, meaning he had to win in the First Round.  In the First Round,
Kip played against Turtle and ended up dead-locked in a 25-25 tie.  Fortunately for Kip, he was the higher seeded player
by one rank, which allowed him to advance and knock off the #2, #6, and #1 seeds in route to the championship game.
Looking back at Kip Possible's Super Bowl history, this is by far his best result.  This is the 5th Super Bowl Tournament
that Kip Possible has played in.  His results have been-- First Round (2005), First Round (2006), Wild Card Round (2007),
and Wild Card Round (2008).  Based on the progress he had made in the past, it could have been projected that Kip would
reach the Divisional Round during both 2009 and 2010.  But defying the critics and winning a couple of MVP Awards along
the way, Kip Possible has established himself as a true contender for this title.  So who is going to win this match and earn
a permanent spot in the Hall of Fame, as well as being forever known as the 2009 Super Bowl champion?  I really do not
have any idea.  If it's a low scoring contest and both players struggle, the edge clearly goes to Bob Swerksi.  But, during
his Super Bowl Tournament run, Kip Possible's worst score has been 25 Points.  If Kip can at least match that number, he
will be putting a trophy up on his shelf one week from tonight.
