(The Super Bowl Tournament is a single elimination tournament.  Win and you move on, lose and
you're eliminated.  Higher seed means you have home field advantage and advance in case of a tie.
Note: Final tournament brackets are no longer set but adjusted each week so lowest seed plays highest seed.)

RESULTS AND COMMENTARY--

Super Bowl XIII Match (Week 16):

Three Time Champion:  The Rickster has won the 2010 Super Bowl Championship.  This is the third time in his career that he has won the Super Bowl title (also champion in 2005 & 2006).  It also is his 8th Major title (he now has 3 club, 3 Super Bowl & 2 Pro Bowl).  The Rickster won the match fairly easily by an 8 Point margin, but one game was the deciding factor.  And it is certainly appropriate that Tuna rested his hopes on the New York Jets as they played against Chicago.  Many people don't realize that one Game of the Week is actually a 10 Point swing if you and your opponent have opposite picks.  If the NY Jets had won that game, the final score of the Super Bowl would have been Speak Now Tuna 19 and The Rickster 17.  But it wasn't to be.  As has been his pattern, The Rickster stepped up and delivered outstanding picks when it mattered the most, with a huge Major title on the line.  And now 2 of his 3 Super Bowl Championship trophies have come at the expense of Tuna.  In looking through his tournament bracket, one of the things which is clear is that The Rickster earned this championship.  In the Wild Card Round, he defeated The Cat 27-23, who is a previous Super Bowl Champion himself.  Then, in the Divisional Round, The Rickster defeated Bob Loblaw 24-14.  Bob was the person who had knocked him out of the tournament the previous year.  Finishing up in style, The Rickster defeated the No. 1 and No. 2 players in the club in back to back weeks, as he beat Slick Chick 33-19 and Speak Now Tuna 22-14.  Now that is some tough competition, and you can see why The Rickster deserves to once again be the Super Bowl Champion.  Congratulations, The Rickster!

What's at stake:  A spot in The Football Club Hall of Fame as the 2010 Super Bowl Champion.

Super Bowl Tournament history:  This season's Super Bowl Championship match between Speak Now Tuna and The Rickster is an epic rematch from 5 years ago.  In the 2005 season, Speak Now Tuna (playing as Important Idler) and The Rickster (playing as Dylan's Dad) met in the Super Bowl Final with the championship trophy on the line.  When it was all over, The Rickster took home the title by coasting to a 25-13 victory.  However, the match turned out to be closer than the final score revealed.  Finding himself behind after the Sunday day games were completed, Speak Now Tuna made a last second switch to go for the win on Sunday night.  Upon losing that and the Monday night game, Tuna's fate was sealed and The Rickster won his first ever Super Bowl Championship. By winning that match, The Rickster finally completed his career sweep of all three of the Major Championships in the club-- Club Points, Pro Bowl and Super Bowl.  The Rickster would go on to achieve even greater things, as he would appear in 3 of the next 5 finals and win another Super Bowl Championship the next year over Double-Double by tying him 20-20 and winning due to home field advantage.  Speak Now Tuna, on the other hand, went on a downward spiral, never again reaching a Super Bowl Final or even a Conference Round match.  In 2006-2008 he lost in the Divisional Round each time, while in 2009 he failed to get out of the Wild Card Round.  And things have changed since that 2005 Super Bowl Final a long five years ago, as the club has new rules and no longer allows switching based on an opponent's picks to go for the win.  Some club members like the new rules (established 2 years ago at the urging of Hoosier Daddy) because they contribute to good sportsmanship, while other club members don't like the new rules because it takes some of the fun out of the league.  Setting aside the controversial issue, it's time to take a closer look at this historic rematch.  This is clearly the best opportunity for Speak Now Tuna to win the championship which he values the most in the club, the Super Bowl title.  But standing in the way of Tuna winning his first title is his teammate and the undisputed greatest Super Bowl Tournament player in club history, The Rickster.  The Rickster is looking to add a 3rd Super Bowl Championship to his long list of 7 Major titles (currently 3 club, 2 Super Bowl, 2 Pro Bowl).  Clearly, The Rickster is the favorite in this match.  But Speak Now Tuna is a much improved player since they last met five years ago.  In fact, Speak Now Tuna has established himself as an annual Top Five finisher and is heading for a new record which nobody else in the club has.  Should he finish this season in the Top Five, Speak Now Tuna would be the first player ever to finish in the Top Five in 5 consecutive seasons.  Currently, he is the only player in the club history to ever finish in the Top Five in 4 consecutive seasons.  And that record started five years ago when these two players had their last great showdown.  No matter who wins, it will be a fun match to keep an eye on.
