Week 6 MVP Award Winner –
Fearless Tuna (32 Points)
After enduring a stormy start to the season, Fearless Tuna scored 32 Points to win the Week 6 MVP Award and move into 6th Place for the first time since finishing there last season. The key to his success was being 1 of only 4 players in the club (along with Young Tuna, NYC Sewer Rat & Shaylene) to correctly pick KC over Detroit in the Sunday night game. An assist in making the brilliant pick goes to Double-Double, who tipped off Fearless Tuna about Detroit dealing with a lot of injuries, thus causing him to go with the Chiefs. Double-Double decided not to make the switch himself, instead sticking with the Lions. The 6 Point SNF/MNF category game has been the hardest to pick this season for the club. After six weeks (which means six games), 3 players still have picked zero correct, while 11 players have only picked only one correct). Fearless Tuna also got both Games of the Week correct with Seattle and TB, as did 6 others. The Week 6 MVP Award Runner-Up was Captain Jack Sparrow, who scored 26 Points to move into 2nd Place, a mere 6 Points behind the leader. Captain Jack said that he was motivated by Coach Gruden’s locker room speech encouraging members of The Football Club to strive for excellence. He doesn’t have to worry about walking the plank anytime soon, but MJD Hogg might have to if he is not careful. This coming week will reveal if the Black Pearl can fire its cannons and sail into 1st Place. A couple of other standout players this week were Rad Dad, who scored 23 Points to rebound from his dismal Week 5 showing, and Drummer Boy, who scored 23 Points to quietly enter back into the Top Five. Young Tuna also had his strongest showing of the season, posting 25 Points to get back into the Top Ten. The current Top Five is #1 MJD Hogg (4 Weeks at #1), #2 Captain Jack Sparrow (6 Points back), #3 Mr. T (8 Points back), #4 Captain Insano (14 Points back), and #5 Drummer Boy (15 Points back). MJD Hogg really needs to step up this week and deliver a strong performance if he wants to hold onto the top spot, because the race for 1st Place is tightening up quite a bit. Finally, let’s take a quick look at the current status of Head to Head Weekly and Pro Bowl Team Weekly. In Head to Head, we still have two undefeated players, which are Captain Jack Sparrow (4-0) and Nighthawk (4-0). Let’s see if they can both win this week to get halfway to a perfect 10-0 regular season record. The other current division leaders are Drummer Boy (3-1) and a tie between Roadrunner & Shaylene (both 3-1). In Pro Bowl team play, Wild Animals are the final undefeated team at 3-0-1. They gave a heartbreaking loss to their main rivals last week when Wild Animals def. Daddy & His Boys 47-45.
