Honors and Archives

HONORS AND ARCHIVES OVERVIEW

Honors and Archives is the section of The Football Club Hall of Fame where special yearly honors are remembered and the club archives are maintained.  There are several yearly honors which are an important part of the club.  Probably the most valuable of these is the Playoff Picks Champion.  Although it is not considered to be as prestigious as one of the club’s three Major titles (Club Points Championship, Super Bowl Champ, and Pro Bowl Champs) because of the short competition duration of only 5 weeks, winning the Playoff Picks title is still a great achievement.  It takes great picking ability to master the Playoff Point-Spread Games and Stat Questions.  The Playoff Picks is not held every year but it is still a consistent feature of the club on many years.  Another important honor is winning the Rookie of the Year Award.  Club members are only eligible for this honor during the first season in which they participate in the club.  In recent years, we have also added the Sportsmanship Award and Comeback Player of the Year Award.  The Sportsmanship Award takes special notice of club members who display great sportsmanship toward others, while the Comeback Player of Year Award takes notice of a player who was either out of the club for a while or struggling in years past, only to come back and turn things around with a great season.  Along with highlighting all of these honors, this section of The Hall of Fame also maintains all of the club archives.  The archives contain the full season recaps of past Football Club seasons.  Usually, these include the final Points Standings, Super Bowl Tournament brackets, Pro Bowl Tournament brackets, Head to Head Weekly final standings, Pro Bowl Weekly final standings, season ending column, and much more.  Many club members enjoy looking back and seeing how they did in past seasons by searching through these records.  Keep in mind that while most of the archives are intact, some seasons have been lost forever (such as details about the first two seasons).
