“Mr. T adds another gold chain with the Week 2 MVP!”

Week 2 MVP Award Winner –
Mr. T (24 Points)

For the first time since Week 13 of last season, a single player has won the MVP Award all alone.  The player was none other than 2020 Club Champion & 2023 Super Bowl Playoff Picks winner Mr. T.  Mr. T (and former club member Little Turf) spent last week in the U.K. and thus he was limited in the amount of research he could do and experts he could listen to for advice in making picks.  Avoiding both and going with his gut instincts paid off big time.  One of Mr. T’s famous sayings is: “I believe in the Golden Rule – The Man with the Gold… Rules.”  And by winning the Week 2 MVP Award and moving into a tie for 1st Place, Mr. T has added another gold chain around his neck.  Mr. T won the MVP by scoring 24 Points on a difficult week.  The key to his success was being the only player in the entire club to correctly pick the Triple Crown of GB-Sea-Pit.  The Week 2 MVP Award Runner-Up was Roadrunner, who scored 22 Points.  Roadrunner has been a dominant force over the past two years in the club, as he has reached a Peak Position of #1 in both seasons.  Let’s see if his success in Week 2 can help him make up the 9 Points he currently needs to catch up to the top spot.  The Top Five currently consists of #1 MJD Hogg & Mr. T (tied for 1st Place), #3 Captain Insano (1 Point back), #4 My Wife Loves Jimmy G (3 Points back), and #5 Fearless Tuna (5 Points back).  Fearless Tuna has seemingly recovered from his costly terrible pick of the NY Jets over SF back in Week 1.  The club members who are currently positioned between #6 and #12 are all only 4 Points or less from getting into the Top Five.  Now is the time to make a move by making some great picks in Week 3 as it is early in the season and much easier to gain ground on the leaders.  Week 3 has some much harder picks than Week 2 did all across the picks sheet, so it will be very revealing to see who does well this week.

Week 1 MVP Award Winners –
Bob Swerski, Captain Insano, Double-Double & MJD Hogg (32 Points)

Congrats to our four MVP Award winners for Week 1.  Bob Swerski, Captain Insano, Double-Double & MJD Hogg all scored 32 Points last week to debut in a tie for 1st Place.  I’m not sure if we’ve ever had four players share the MVP Award together in a single week.  This tells me that we will have a very competitive battle this season in the Points standings.  All four players took different paths to win a share of the Week 1 MVP Award.  Bob Swerski was 1 of only 2 players to correctly pick the Triple Crown of Pit-Chi-Mia (along with Hoosier Daddy).  Captain Insano followed up his Triple Jeopardy crown from last season by correctly picking Houston with TJ along with 7 other players.  Double-Double was 1 of only 6 players to correctly pick both Games of the Week with Minnesota and Dallas.  And MJD Hogg was 1 of only 5 players to get both the Thursday and Friday night games correct with Kansas City and Philadelphia.  Our Week 1 MVP Award Runner-Up was Hoosier Daddy, who is only a couple of Points back with 30 Points.  And thus, we have our debut Top Five, which includes only the MVP Award winners and MVP Award Runner-Up.
