Fearless Tuna’s Week 5 Picks

Week 5 full picks now posted.  (Sat night 11:30 pm).  Made a real bad switch on Thurs night to Seattle.  Hoping the bad picks don’t continue into Sunday.  All players are welcome to view my picks once they have turned their own in for the week.

Week 4 MVP Award Winner –
New York City Sewer Rat (31 Points)

New York City Sewer Rat spent last season dwelling in the dark tunnels below the surface as he finished in 18th Place.  Despite this, last season he did find some scraps to feed on by claiming 2 MVP Awards, so he wasn’t totally caught in a trap of making bad picks.  This season he started fresh (changing his name from Badwater Nessie to NYC Sewer Rat) as his family moved from Sonoma to New York and he was ready to make an impact in the standings.  And it didn’t take him long, as he removed the sewer grate to crawl out and feed on the Week 4 MVP Award with 31 Points.  He did this by making some really exceptional picks, including being the only one in the entire club to correctly pick the Triple Crown of Cle-NYG-KC.  He was also 1 of only 2 players to get the Double Stakes of Arz-Sea (along with Hoosier Daddy).  With this huge week, NYC Sewer Rat has jumped all the way up to 3rd Place in the standings, a mere 4 Points out of 1st Place.  The Week 4 MVP Award Runner-Up was shared between Captain Insano and rookie player The Icelandic Cod, who both scored 25 Points.  It is nice to see Captain Insano bounce back with such a strong week.  And it is quite impressive to see The Icelandic Cod post such a great week even while she was attending Pioneer School (along with Slick Chick).  Speaking of that, Stinkerbell sent along kind thoughts to both The Icelandic Cod & Slick Chick on Club Chat, when she said: “Enjoy your school Slick and Cod”.  Everyone that can take a moment to say hello on Club Chat once in a while is greatly appreciated.  In taking a look at the current Top Five, we have September Player of the Month Award winner Bob Swerski enjoying his 2nd week at #1, 2nd Place Drummer Boy (1 Point back), 3rd Place NYC Sewer Rat, and tied for 4th Place Captain Insano and Fearless Tuna (7 Points back).

In Head to Head Weeky, we only have 3 undefeated players left.  They are Drummer Boy (3-0), Fearless Tuna (1-0-2), and The Icelandic Cod (3-0).  Every season, I start out hopeful that someone can reach the elusive 10-0 mark, but it still has never happened in club history.  In Pro Bowl Team Weekly, Wild Animals continue to win games and are now 3-0 after def. defending champions The Gridiron Guardians 60-54.  But The Polar Bears are stalking them not far behind at 2-1 after a decisive victory over Daddy & His Boys 76-52.
