Week 3 MVP Award Winner –
Drummer Boy (27 Points)
The entire club is about to go into full panic mode because Drummer Boy has stepped forward and claimed the Week 3 MVP Award by scoring 27 Points and thereby moving into 2nd Place. 2021 Club Champion & 2023 Club Champion Drummer Boy, as everyone knows, has dominated the club for 2 1/2 of the last 3 seasons and he is looking to do so once again. Who can stop him? I’m not sure anyone can. And now that he has claimed an early season MVP Award, he very well could stay in the Top Five for the rest of the season. We will soon find out if he has hit his crescendo or if there are more great picks to come. Drummer Boy’s key to success last week was being 1 of only 2 players to correctly pick both Games of the Week with Indy & Balt. He has also wisely figured out that all nine Point Spread games have gone to the underdogs so far this season. So why is Drummer Boy not in 1st Place? Because MJD Hogg has been playing absolutely lights out this season, averaging 24 Points per week. The difference between the two comes down to Triple Jeopardy. MJD Hogg has managed TJ perfectly, going 1-0, while Drummer Boy has struggled at 1-2. That’s a 4 Point swing between the top two players right there. The Week 3 MVP Award Runner-Up was none other than The Rickster, making his picks while he is on a road trip across the States and scoring 26 Points. The Rickster was the other player to get both Games of the Week correct, but he was also 1 of only 4 players to correctly pick the Double Stakes with Min & Det. With The Rickster claiming his last Club Championship 18 years ago, he is more than due to win another trophy. He now enters the Top Ten, standing only 13 Points behind the leader. Taking a look at the current Top Five, we have #1 MJD Hogg (3 Weeks at #1), #2 Drummer Boy (3 Points back), #3 Captain Insano (5 Points back), #4 Roadrunner (8 Points back), and #5 My Wife Loves Jimmy G (9 Points back). As you may have noticed, Stinkerbell has moved ahead of her main rival Double-Double, now standing 1 Point ahead of him in 6th Place. Stinkerbell & Bob Swerski recently got back from an Alaska cruise, and now that she has defrosted back here in California, it led to making some great picks last week. On a final note, Head to Head Weekly (10 game regular season) and Pro Bowl Team Weekly (12 game regular season) resumed last week thanks to Nighthawk, who returned to the club to help even out the numbers. Thanks to Nighthawk playing with us, we now have the ideal amount of people (18 players) in order to make those competitions happen.
