Week 10 MVP Award Winner –
Nighthawk (28 Points)
2008 Club Champion Nighthawk took flight last week with the Week 10 MVP Award after making some outstanding picks to score 28 Points. This was his second MVP Award of the season and he now stands in 12th Place, only 8 Points from getting back into the Top Ten. Let’s not forget that he didn’t start playing until Week 3 and thus he started out 25 Points behind 1st Place at that time. Since then, he’s only lost 15 Points of ground. What that means is that had the season started when he joined, he currently would be in 4th Place. Nighthawk was 1 of only 2 players in the club last week to pick both the Monday Night game with Miami and the Triple Crown of NE-Buf-LAC correctly. The other player to do so was My Wife Loves Jimmy G, who was our Week 10 MVP Award Runner-Up with 27 Points. My Wife Loves Jimmy G continues to pick lights out, outplaying Drummer Boy last week (and beating him in Head to Head), thus moving into 2nd Place, only 8 Points behind him. My Wife Loves Jimmy G was 1 of only 2 players in the club to correctly pick New Orleans with TJ last week (along with NYC Sewer Rat). Speaking of Triple Jeopardy, club members have really fallen apart lately when picking this category. 9 players (or half the club) picked Atlanta with TJ last week and took a -2 Points loss from their final scores. In fact, only 4 players in the entire club have a winning record at picking TJ this season: My Wife Loves Jimmy G, Stinkerbell, MJD Hogg & Captain Insano. You can see why this category is so dangerous to select and this week is no exception. The current Top Five consists of #1 Drummer Boy (7 Weeks at #1), #2 My Wife Loves Jimmy G (8 Points back), #3 Stinkerbell (10 Points back), #4 Bob Swerski (19 Points back), and #5 Double-Double (24 Points back). Speaking of Stinkerbell, she was poised to move into 1st Place this week if the LA Rams had won on Monday night. So it was a very disappointing result for her. But the good news is that she is still within striking distance of the top spot. Also notable is that Mr. T has crept up into 6th Place and is now just 1 Point from getting back into the Top Five. Meanwhile, the Tuna family (Fearless Tuna, Shaylene, Roadrunner & Young Tuna) are in shambles as they currently occupy 4 of the bottom 6 spots. They definitely have been netted and will be sent off to the cannery if they don’t start picking better.
