Week 12 MVP Award Winner –
Fearless Tuna (28 Points)
Fearless Tuna finally emerged from a mid-season drought in which his ability to make good picks had nearly evaporated. After posting back to back dismal 9 Point weeks, the recent local rains filled up the waterways enough for him to score 28 Points and swim upstream with the Week 12 MVP Award. If he can manage to claim one more MVP Award this season, Fearless Tuna has stated that he will get a photo next summer in front of the famous Charlie the Tuna statue in American Samoa outside of the StarKist cannery to celebrate. Fearless Tuna won MVP by being 1 of only 4 players in the club last week to correctly pick both Games of the Week with Green Bay & Seattle. He then added Minnesota TJ, Double Stakes, and the 6 Point Monday night game. Fearless Tuna & his family Pro Bowl team Tuna Generations have both struggled mightily this season. In fact, both only picked up their first wins of the season last week. The Week 12 MVP Award Runner-Up went to fast-charging Bob Swerski, who scored 25 Points. Bob Swerksi continues to pick incredibly well week after week. In fact, he picked so well this month that he was named the November Player of the Month Award winner. During each of the past 7 weeks, Bob Swerksi has posted a score of over 20 Points. It seems that he has taken over the Raiders old motto of Commitment to Excellence. Bob Swerksi has now moved into a tie for 3rd Place and sits only 12 Points away from getting back into 1st Place. A look at the current Top Five reveals some interesting developments. Returning to the top spot in dominant fashion is Drummer Boy, who logged his 8th week at #1. Behind him, we have #2 Stinkerbell (9 Points back), tied for #3 My Wife Loves Jimmy G & Bob Swerski (12 Points back), and #5 Mr. T (26 Points back). And don’t look now, but knocking on the door to get back into the Top Five is Double-Double, who posted a strong 21 Points to now stand only 2 Points away.
Head to Head Weekly wrapped up last week and we have our four division winners. They are Division One champion Drummer Boy (7-3), Division Two champion Hoosier Daddy (6-2-2), Division Three winner My Wife Loves Jimmy G (6-2-2), and Division Four winner Shaylene (6-4). All of the seedings have been completed for the Super Bowl Tournament and we have two matches this week to kick things off in the dreaded First Round. This is the sad part for two players because they will be sent packing before the tournament really even gets going. The two First Round matches this week are (9) Fearless Tuna (1-8-1) at (8) Captain Insano (2-7-1) and (9) Roadrunner (3-7) at (8) Rad Dad (3-6-1). All of the rest of the players will be in action the following week in Week 14.
