“Captain Jack Sparrow Plunders the Week 7 MVP!”

Week 7 MVP Award Winner –
Captain Jack Sparrow (37 Points)

The strongest two players from last week kept up their momentum this week, although they flipped spots while doing so.  Last week’s MVP Award Runner-Up Captain Jack Sparrow scored 37 Points to plunder the Week 7 MVP Award and move only 1 Point away from First Place.  It seems lately that everyone who gets in his way in the standings ends up walking the plank to make room for him.  Captain Jack had proclaimed on Club Chat that he was going to shine some hooks and do a little fishing.  While his fishing failed to reel in the Tuna he was hoping to catch, he did end up reeling in all other club members.  Captain Jack Sparrow’s huge week resulted from his only missing two picks on the entire sheet: the Autopicker game and the Colts game.  If strong winds persist, Captain Jack could very well sail the Black Pearl into First Place next week, leaving all other vessels in his wake.  Last week’s MVP Fearless Tuna scored 35 Points to swim off with the Week 7 MVP Award Runner-Up.  The Fearless one has been swimming as fast as he can underwater, avoiding any fish hooks being dropped with bait, but still being outpaced by the Black Pearl’s sails.  Even so, the second strong week in a row was enough to send Fearless Tuna into the Top Five for the first time this season.  Looking around the league, there were a few other standout performances.  Scoring 30 Points or better last week were nine players in total, including Double-Double (energized from eating a real Double-Double during his recent trip to Las Vegas), Rad Dad (fully recovered from the -1 Point debacle and playing strong again but disappointed the Swerski Award suggested on Club Chat did not become reality), The Rickster (quietly moving up and lurking just 6 Points outside of the Top Five), Drummer Boy (feeling snubbed by Coach Gruden and thus playing hard to prove his All-Pro status), MJD Hogg (pulling out all the stops to hold onto his spot at the very top), Roadrunner (having rebuilt the engine of his 1969 Plymouth roadrunner 383 four-speed hard top with high performance headers, racing cam, and bored out cylinders), and Shaylene (recovering well from her season-ending knee and arm injuries last year to once again run the 40-yard dash in 4 seconds).  The Top Five currently consists of #1 MJD Hogg (5 Weeks at #1), #2 Captain Jack Sparrow (1 Point back), #3 Mr. T (13 Points back), #4 Drummer Boy (14 Points back), and tied for #5 Captain Insano & Fearless Tuna (18 Points back).
