“Captain Jack, Fearless Tuna & Young Tuna share the Week 12 MVP!”

Week 12 MVP Award Winners –
Captain Jack Sparrow, Fearless Tuna & Young Tuna (31 Points)

For the first time this season, we had a three-way tie for the MVP Award.  Captain Jack Sparrow, Fearless Tuna & Young Tuna all scored 31 Points to claim a share of the Week 12 MVP.  Captain Jack Sparrow continued his domination of the club, posting a stunning fourth MVP award of the season.  The All-Time Record for Most MVP Awards in a Season in the Hall of Fame is 5 MVP Awards, set in the year 2010 by Slick Chick.  With seven weeks left in the season, we have to consider the possibility that Captain Jack might be able to tie or break her record.  Time will tell, because others have reached 4 MVP Awards before and were not able to break through.  It’s an extreme amount of pressure, to say the least.  Speaking in the third person, Fearless Tuna is a difficult player to figure out this season.  During 4 of the last 7 weeks, he has had either the highest score in the club, or the second highest.  But during 2 of the other 3 weeks, he has had the lowest score in the entire club.  It is this inconsistency that is keeping him out of the Top Five for now.  Young Tuna had a great time when he got to attend the 49ers game on Monday night against the Panthers along with his dad Fearless Tuna (see included picture below).  That was Young Tuna’s third football game in person.  When I asked Young Tuna what he wanted to do special during his holiday break from school, I gave him 3 options: 49ers game, Warriors game, or Monterey Bay Aquarium.  He chose the 49ers game, which I think was the best option and was glad that he chose it.  Young Tuna can sneak back into the Top Ten if he can make up 6 Points.  Rad Dad scored 30 Points to win the Week 12 MVP Award Runner-Up.  He has been an extremely strong player lately.  In fact, if the Monday night game had been Over, he would have been the sole MVP Award winner.  As for other notable players, I noticed that Double-Double & Stinkerbell, long known to be the club’s biggest rivals, only have 1 Point separating them in the standings.  (At least we can be confident that they won’t get suspended for spitting on each other.  Just joking, of course.  They both show great sportsmanship, unlike some NFL players.)  Double-Double is also now just 2 Points away from getting into the Top Five for the first time this season.  Also, Captain Jack Sparrow is now starting to separate himself from the rest of the Top Five.  MJD Hogg remains only 10 Points out, but then the gap between 1st and 3rd jumps to an astounding 21 Points.  That spells trouble for those looking to overtake him for the club title.  The only good news is that there are still seven weeks left, so anything can happen, as MJD Hogg proved last week when he made up 19 Points in a single week.  A shoutout goes to Captain Insano, who finally had the courage to pick Triple Jeopardy for the first time this season and got it right.  Also, Bob Swerski got another TJ pick correct, extending his league lead to 7-1 with that category.  I’m still waiting for The Rickster to attempt one, but he might still be shaken up over going 0-1 and missing his only TJ pick last season.  The current Top Five consists of #1 Captain Jack Sparrow (5 Weeks at #1), #2 MJD Hogg (10 Points back), #3 Mr. T (21 Points back), and tied for #4 Captain Insano & Drummer Boy (22 Points back).

Head to Head Weekly wrapped up last week and we have our four division winners.  They are: Captain Jack Sparrow (Division One champ 8-2), Fearless Tuna (Division Two champ 5-4-1), Nighthawk (Division Three Champ 6-3-1), and Roadrunner (Division Four Champ 7-3).  Congrats to all division winners on an outstanding regular season.  That leads us into the Super Bowl Tournament, which begins this week with two dreaded First Round matches.  Elimination is on the line for two players as we have (9) Hoosier Daddy (3-7) at (8) Captain Insano (3-7) and (9) New York City Sewer Rat (4-6) at (8) Mr. T (4-6).  Be sure to check out the newly posted Super Bowl Tournament page for more information and to see how the seedings worked out.
