Week 4 MVP Award Winner –
The Sad Salmon (30 Points)

The Sad Salmon escaped the hook and swam away with the Week 4 MVP Award. Being our newest rookie player, The Sad Salmon started the season with a huge disadvantage. While some club members have been involved with the club for almost two decades, the Sad Salmon arrived with no experience in making successful picks week after week. In addition, for some unknown reason (perhaps the struggles of his favorite team the Miami Dolphins), he is feeling sad. And being in a fragile state emotionally could also cause someone to make bad picks. But in Week 4, The Sad Salmon dismissed all the doubters and stunned the entire club by scoring 30 Points on a very hard week to make good picks. With so many upsets across the board, how did The Sad Salmon come up so big? One of his most brilliant picks was Phil over SF in the Sunday night game. And he was the only person in the entire club to get that one right. In addition, he got both Games of the Week and 2 of the 3 Point Spread games correct. His strong week has propelled him all the way into 2nd Place. Well done, Sad Salmon. The Sad Salmon is truly becoming a rookie sensation just as Stinkerbell was back in 2018. The Week 4 Runner-Up MVP Award went to Rad Dad, who scored 21 Points. Rad Dad had started off the season a little bit quiet, but he has now served notice that he will be a force to be reckoned with. Rad Dad was 1 of the 5 players who got both Games of the Week correct with Indy and Cin (with the others being The Sad Salmon, Stinkerbell, Low Fat Tuna & Double-Double). Rad Dad has now moved up into 8th Place and stands a mere 12 Points from reaching #1. On a personal note, Baby Tuna misses getting mints from Rad Dad at the meetings. So he hopes we can resume in-person meetings in the near future and see Rad Dad once again. The current Top Five consists of #1 Nighthawk (3 Weeks at #1 and our September Player of the Month Award winner), tied for #2 Double-Double & The Sad Salmon (3 Points back), #4 Mr. T: SDFW (4 Points back), and #5 Halibut J-Bird (6 Points back).
Over in Head to Head Weekly, all but 2 of the Head to Head matches last week were settled by 4 Points or less. In the new Division One, Bob Swerski is currently in 1st Place (3-0). In the new Division Two, freespirit is currently in 1st Place (3-0). Although he ended up finishing with a tie last week, Mr. T: SDFW is in 1st Place in the new Division Three (2-0-1). And in the new Division Four, we actually have a four-way tie for 1st Place with four players all having matching 2-1 records. Our defending 2018 Super Bowl Head to Head champion Hoosier Daddy has been struggling as he has started off winless at 0-3. However, while his record looks bad, Hoosier Daddy has actually played three really strong matches. That just goes to show that in Head to Head, you can pick really good and still do really bad. On the flip side, you can pick terribly and still do really good. It all depends on who you happen to be playing against during that week. I’m sure Hoosier Daddy will pick up some wins soon and challenge for his division title, as he always does. In Pro Bowl Team Weekly, our two newest teams The Gridiron Guardians and For the Win have both established themselves as contenders with matching 2-1 records and being tied for 1st Place along with McTriple Play.
